FUND DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE 2019- 2020

CHATS is accepting applications for our volunteer Fund Development Advisory Committee. If you have a sincere interest and/or related experience with fundraising activities, marketing, communications, public relations, promotion, stakeholder relations, volunteer supervision; and would like to use your skills to help plan and drive the philanthropic interests of CHATS please forward your resume to Rhonda Flanagan at rflanagan@chats.on.ca. To view the full job description please click here. 

BOARD OF DIRECTORS & COMMITTEE MEMBERS 2019- 2020

CHATS is seeking expressions of interest from those who share our commitment to ensuring effective, quality-based and client-centered care and support for older adults and their caregivers within the healthcare system and in the community.  Volunteer Board and governance experience is an asset, as are individuals who possess strong communication, collaboration, and consensus-building skills. CHATS welcomes applicant’s representative of the ethnocultural, linguistic, and geographic diversity of York Region and South Simcoe. Successful candidates will also support, and be involved with, CHATS’ fundraising activities, with an ability to open doors within communities served by CHATS.

If you live or work in York Region or South Simcoe and are willing to donate between 3-5 hours each month to make a difference in the lives of seniors and their caregivers, please forward your resume to Saskia Sanchez-Ferrer ssanchez-ferrer@chats.on.ca by February 8, 2019.  Qualified candidates will be contacted shortly thereafter.

MEALS ON WHEELS –AURORA FOOD PANTRY DELIVERIES

  • Deliver food to Aurora seniors who are unable to access the food bank
  • First Thursday of each month,  9:00 am for approximately 2 hours
  • Mileage reimbursed at .45/km 

MEALS ON WHEELS – BRADFORD/NEW TECUMSETH

  • Approximately 3 hours/week, Tuesday morning deliveries in Beeton, Tottenham, Schomberg and Loretto, between 10 am and 1:00 pm
  • Pick up Meals at CHATS' Bradford location
  • Mileage reimbursed at .45/km 

ADULT DAY PROGRAM -VAUGHAN

  • Volunteers required to assist with facilitation of social/recreational program for seniors
  • Support wellness activities, serving and cleaning up lunch
  • Friday from  9:30 am - 2:00 pm

ADULT DAY PROGRAM -RICHMOND HILL

  • Volunteers required to assist with facilitation of social/recreational program for seniors
  • Support wellness activities, serving and cleaning up lunch
  • Monday for 3-4 hours

SOUTH ASIAN ADULT DAY PROGRAM -RICHMOND HILL

  • Volunteers required to assist with facilitation of social/recreational program for seniors
  • Support wellness activities, serving and cleaning up lunch
  • Wednesday or Thursday from  9:30 -3:00 or am or pm only

TELEPHONE REASSURANCE VOLUNTEER - WORK FROM HOME OR REMOTELY

  • Provide a telephone check in call to an isolated senior
  • Availability Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday afternoon for approximately 1/2 hour
  • Must be reliable, sensitive and compassionate  

VOLUNTEER TRANSPORTATION DRIVERS - YORK REGION AND SOUTH SIMCOE 

(URGENT NEED IN EAST YORK REGION, MARKHAM, NEW TECUMSETH, BEETON, TOTTENHAM, AND ALLISTON)

  • Support seniors to attend medical appointment and grocery shopping

  • Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm

  • Flexible schedule—work around your commitments

  • Volunteers use their own vehicle, generous mileage reimbursement

FRIULI TERRACE ADULT DAY PROGRAM – WOODBRIDGE

  • Volunteers assist with settling in,  small group activities, serving coffee, lunch and other recreational/social activities

  • Italian speaking volunteers an asset

  • Tuesday, and Friday opportunities

RICHMOND HILL RESTAURANT LUNCH OUT

  • Volunteers needed to drive seniors to and from local restaurants and join the lunch if you wish.

  • 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month

  • Mileage reimbursed

AURORA WELLNESS PROGRAM – IRANIAN OLDER ADULTS

  • Drivers and program help required for weekly program for Iranian older adults

  • Drivers required 9:00 am & 2:00 p.m. every Tuesday

  • Kitchen help required 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Russian seniors wellness program

  • Assist with activities, serving coffee, lunch and kitchen help

  • Thursdays 9:30-1:00pm 

  • Richmond Hill United Church

rUSSIAN SENIORS WELLNESS PROGRAM--set up and take down

  • Strong volunteer needed to set up tables and chairs for seniors wellness program
  • Thursdays 8:30 am set up, -1:30 pm take down
