Concerned about the health, well-being and safety of a senior-aged parent, spouse, relative or friend?

CHATS can provide you with peace of mind, through such programs as Telephone Reassurance and Meals on Wheels.

Telephone Reassurance: CHATS' trained volunteers provide seniors with a regular phone call to check their health and safety, and to also have a friendly conversation.

“My cousin worries about me living alone. She arranged to have a CHATS volunteer call me to make sure I’m ok,” says Helen Ross. “It really helps my cousin to know someone is looking out for me.”

And it’s also a pleasant way to socialize. “It’s nice to have a chat – we have a laugh!”

Meals on Wheels:  Another concern you may have is that your senior-aged loved one is not eating properly. With Meals on Wheels, CHATS volunteers deliver home-style comfort-food right to a senior’s door.

The meals are great-tasting, convenient and nutritious – and special dietary needs can be accommodated.

“When you are older, it’s hard to go shopping to get all the groceries you need to stay healthy,” says Mary Cameron. “The meals I get are very good and nutritious, and are easy to heat up. They really help me eat well.”

With more than 100 menu options, there’s something for everyone – soups, breakfasts, snacks, beefs, poultry, pork, vegetarian, Chinese-style, and desserts. Puree, minced, diabetic, low-sodium and low-fat options are available.
