Home Adaptation and Maintenance Program

Welcome to CHATS’ Home Adaptation and Maintenance Program (HAMP)!

Launched in 2009, the Home Adaptation and Maintenance Program is based out of the CHATS’ Rural Office in Bradford, ON. So far we have helped over 2,100 clients in Northern York Region and South Simcoe age safely in their own homes.

This program includes a comprehensive FREE Home Safety Assessment where recommendations are made to help improve the quality of life for older adults who wish to maintain their independent living arrangements.

Our program includes Home Adaptations such as:

  • Bathtub Cut-outs
  • Grab bars
  • Handrails
  • Raised toilets and bathroom support equipment including hand-held shower heads and shower benches. 
  • Improved lighting and more

And Home Maintenance services such as:

  • Spring yard clean-up
  • Fall yard clean-up
  • Summer lawn care
  • Eaves trough cleaning
  • Exterior window cleaning
  • Snow removal

Program Eligibility:
This program is available to older adults aged 65 and better who live in Bradford West Gwillimbury, East Gwillimbury, Georgina, Newmarket and New Tecumseth only.

Younger clients may be admitted to the program on a case-by-case basis.

With her education in Psychology and experience working with client and supplier relationship-based models, Gaynor is well positioned to work with the HAMP program providing coordination for both our clients and service providers to ensure safe environments for the senior community.

Gaynor is passionate about client care coordination for seniors in the rural community and looks forward to committed and trusted working relationships within the HAMP program.

Mark Lubberts, Program Coordinator

With his education in Sociology and a background in construction, Mark is well positioned to build relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds and make recommendations that will help them live more safely in their homes.

He enjoys meeting new clients and watching those faces become familiar as we arrange meaningful services with our trusted service providers season after season.
